Pageant Requirements, Judging & Prize Packages 

ELIGIBILITY & COMPETITION

Delegate must:

  • Be of good health, moral character, and born female.

  • Have parental consent if under the age of 18.

  • Not consume any illegal substance(s) that renders harm to her body, mind, and spirit.

  • Determine a social advocacy platform (a social issue/cause, or Black history issue or fact to which you are committed and can effectively advocate for change or development).

  • Attend required engagements such as fundraising activities benefiting the Miss Juneteenth Pageant, (securing advertising, selling tickets, etc.)

  • Be a student in good standing with a 2.0 GPA or better (Teen only).

  • Not have a criminal record or a social media presence with inappropriate content, before, during and after pageant reign.

  • Have the ability and desire to represent the SFL Miss Juneteenth Pageant organization in a positive manner at all times.

  • Participate in at least (3) community service projects, Parades, Juneteenth festivals and all activities deemed necessary by the Juneteenth Pageant committee.

  • As Citywide queen, be ready to meet the SFL Juneteenth Pageant Official Rules & guidelines.

    ** Failure to comply with the above requirements will constitute a relinquishment of the Miss Juneteenth title. Therefore, (crown and         title) must be surrendered. The first runner-up will thereby assume the position for the remaining tenure. All other title holders will remain   in their positions.

Ambassador: Promote SLF Juneteenth Pageant for one year. Ambassadors are eligible to participate in the next year's pageant. ** Registration: $200

Requirements of the pageant:

  • Registration fee: $300.00 (Secures your spot as City Queen) $100.00 Deposit

  • Sell Ad pages for the first SFL Miss Juneteenth Pageant souvenir book. 

  • Availability to participate in the 2025 Juneteenth meetings, rehearsals, and activities.

  • SFL Teen Queen must be available to attend the National Pageant in Alabama, which will be held in the month of October.

Areas of Judging:
  • Community Service – SFL JP prides itself on the service we give to our communities. City wide queens are expected to act as ambassadors of their city. In addition, A portfolio of events attended must be submitted. Fifteen (15) hours required. (Teen Winner Only)

  • Private Interview – The Private Interview is an opportunity to learn as much as possible about each contestant. During these 5 minute sessions, judges are determining the contestant’s skills and attributes towards becoming the South Florida Queen.

  • The judges will assess their commitment(s) to advance themselves as role models; as well as their ability to express and distinguish their beliefs.

  

  • Will look for overall “first impressions”. What sense of accomplishments, confidence, and presence do they hold? Questions shall involve around the contestant’s “platform,” community service, current events, career ambitions and personal goals, and interests that are revealed in the contestant’s profile.

  • Talent Competition – (Teens Only) The contestant will be judged on talent and familiarity with her presentation, her ability to become completely involved in her act, the degree of difficulty of the performance, facial expressions, presence, and audience appeal.

  • Evening Gown Competition – The Poise & Stage Presence phase of the competition is designed for the contestant to project personality and confidence in her evening gown. 

  • Projection Competition – The contestant will be judged on her ability to speak clearly. 

  •  On stage Question (Finalist only). It is critical that the winner of the South Florida pageantbe an articulate and effective communicator. The contestant will be judged on her ability to think and respond quickly with confidence.

  • Essay/Platform Competition – The contestant will be judged on her ability to express her thoughts, clear and concise subject development, and grammar syntax. Five points will be deducted for late essays.
